- Someone that cannot walk more than 200 feet while having to pause and get some rest
- Someone that needs a wheelchair to move around
- Someone that has lost a hand, arm, leg, or foot.
- Someone that has lost the use of an leg, foot, hand or arm or experiencing paralysis
- Someone permanently disabled that impairs their ability to move
- Someone with a permanent eye impairment for both eyes
- Has to use an assistive device to walk, such as a brace, crutch cane prosthetic device, or another person
Someone applying for a temporary permit will usually be one with a non-permanent disability but would greatly limit their ability to mobilize for a minimum of three weeks. To get the disability permit, you must be certified by a qualified physician. This can be any of the following people in the medical profession:-
- Licensed doctor
- Licensed NP or nurse practitioner
- Licensed PA or physician’s assistant
- Licensed DC or chiropractor
- Licensed DPM or podiatrist
- Licensed PT or physical therapist
- Licensed OP or optometrist
Alternatively, someone who lost their arm or a leg can auto-certify the condition when they show up in person and carry with them the required documentation as proof of their condition.
