Workshop 1: Understanding Neurodiversity in Your Life

A significant part of the way that we view neurodivergence is through the lens of academic performance. And while being a Spicy Brain can affect your experience of school and schooling--neurodivergence brings much more flavor to our lives than just that. In this workshop we discuss common themes in living with a Spicy Brain. In this workshop we are working towards accepting the overall impact of neurodivergence in our lives.

Presenter Bio:

I was diagnosed as neurodivergent in my early twenties after years of resisting being labeled as "different." Despite a diagnosis I would spend another decade still ignoring, "managing", and shaming myself about my disabilities and neurodivergence. As I have grown to accept myself over the last five years I have also started working to promote self-acceptance amongst my "spicy brain" community. In the last two years I have been exploring how being a spicy brain intersects with intimate relationships--especially socially stigmatized ways of relating such as kink, polyamory, etc.
