Your ticket covers your access to the 2 hour virtual online course (link to access and downloadable materials will be sent after you've made payment) AND the virtual class that will be held on Tuesday, September 27th from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
Youth Mental Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders. When you have completed the course, you will receive a Certificate valid for 3 years.
Tracy Klingener is a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor in both the Adult and Youth Modules. She is also a Licensed Associate Counselor, working towards her LPC. Tracy has her Masters in Community Counseling from Montclair State University. She has been working in the mental health field for the last 17 years. Her background also includes working with sexual assault survivors, at risk youth and evaluating adolescents for learning disabilities. She currently has been working at the Mental Health Association for 12 years as the Assistant Director of Self-Help, Advocacy and Education.
