Date: 28 June 2022
Time: 6.00 p.m. - 7.30 p.m. AWST
Event Info:
The Power of Peer Webinar Series showcases different ways peer and lived experience effects positive change in communities.
Our aim is to engage people with disability, families and carers to come together, using their lived experience to enrich and empower their lives and those of their peers.
To kick off the series, Margaret Doherty, the Founder and Chairperson of Mental Health Matters 2 and Andrew Fairbairn – President of Physical Disability Australia, Parent, Peer and PwD, will join us to tell their stories.
Margaret’s power of peer story relates to Mental Health Matters 2, and she will also be talking to a new and exciting, employment focused peer initiative. You can read Margaret’s bio on Valued Lives' website here.
Andrew will share his journey as a person with a disability, Dad to Kyal who has an intellectual disability and as a strong peer advocate in communities, who can attest to the power and positive impact of peer groups and initiatives. You can read Andrew’s bio on Valued Lives' website here.
There will be time for Q&A after these presentations, so make sure you have all your peer questions ready!
Please note: This disability events event will take place on Zoom - after registering you will receive a confirmation email containing a link to the event page where you will find instructions on how to join in on the day.
The webinar is hosted by: Valued Lives, Peer. Leadership & Home Team.
