#TechTuesday: Disability Pride and Assistive Technology
Join us as we discuss disability pride and how AT plays a large role in recognizing and celebrating our uniqueness and rejecting shame.

About this disability events
Disability is a natural and beautiful part of human diversity. When it comes to Assistive Technology (AT), any tool or device that helps people with disabilities do things. Devices are not always designed with personalities and style preferences in-mind. Getting comfortable with using AT can be an adjustment. Selecting and using AT can be a part of our disability pride. Disability pride is accepting our uniqueness and rejecting shame.
Join Laura Hall and Kellie Blackwell as they discuss disability pride and how AT plays a large role in recognizing and celebrating our disability pride. This session will take place over Zoom and will have ASL and CART captioning provided.
During this handicap events session presenters will cover the use of AT devices and strategies. We will explore devices and resources to support people with disabilities of all ages. We will cover AT that individuals can use in their everyday lives and how requesting accommodations and accessing AT devices is apart of developing Disability Pride. This session will be interactive with time for questions, resource sharing, and brainstorming!
