- Recognition of the pattern of ‘everyday bruising’ in children
- Recognition of how inflicted bruising in children differs from everyday bruising (include photographic evidence)
- Children with Disabilities and NAI
- Understanding the notion of a ‘sentinel injury’ in child maltreatment
- Other non-accidental injuries and cutaneous mimics
- How to record your findings/ how the medical process/ examination and arriving at a decision about the injury fits in to the wider process of carrying out a safeguarding investigation- the timescales, the need for a clear opinion by medics as it is their opinion that is often the basis of a care order.
- Medical Language / terminology within the NAI process report
