Since 2020, the Assessment and Referral Team (ART) has supported over 3,000 Queenslanders with disability to access the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
ART is now sharing learnings from this work to help further build the capacity of government and non-government workers across Queensland.
Join us in this handicap events to find out how you can support your clients with disability to access the NDIS.
These capacity building sessions are designed to share our insights into NDIS access related processes and requirements and will cover:
Diagnosis and permanence of disability
• Overview of NDIS access requirements
• Exploring diagnosis and permanence of disability in the context of the NDIS access criteria for children and young people who have one or more of the following diagnoses:
Intellectual disability
Autism spectrum disorder
Psychosocial disability
Acquired brain injury or traumatic brain injury
Neurological impairment
Hearing impairment
Vision impairment
• Understanding comorbidities
• Supporting evidence.
Functional capacity
• Exploring the six functional domains
• Sample prompting questions and examples.
