Many dimensions contribute to an individual's sense of wellness including physical, spiritual, and emotional. Each can have a positive impact on one's well-being and quality of life. Tune in and learn about some of the careers that contribute to the whole person.
This workshop will consist of three panelists:
Fatima Tahir is a Registered Social Worker who graduated with a Masters of Social Work from York University and Child and Youth Care degree from Toronto Metropolitan University. Fatima specializes in trauma therapy in both individual and group settings in a variety of milieus, including: mental health and healthcare, and counselling settings. As a racialized female, she strongly recognizes the barriers that many people face while trying to access services that help individuals strive towards achieving their optimal physical, psychological and emotional health and wellbeing. Both her personal and professional experiences have led her to pursue a career that focuses on advocating for individuals to gain a greater sense of autonomy, empowerment and confidence in making decisions that better support their mental health and functioning.
Dr. Kimberly Chan is a Canadian optometrist practicing in Toronto and Markham with special interest in pediatrics, myopia control and dry eyes. She is passionate about optometry and wants to share more about the profession with others. She is dedicated to raising eye health awareness to the public through her social media account (@drkimberlychan on instagram), published articles, guest speaking and volunteering opportunities. She continues to inspire and mentor those pursuing the same career path and help build the community of support among health professionals.
Rory Bray is a registered Dietician and Fitness Instructor.
This workshop will be facilitated by Ken Lee, one our Career Coaches in Residence. The program is generously supported by RBC Foundation with the support of several donors.
