Disability, Sex & Pleasure - staff & caregivers

A two hour online workshop exploring sexual rights, pleasure and disability.

By the end of the workshops you will have:

• Information on sexual rights for disabled people
• Explored the benefits of sexual pleasure
• Looked at what can help enhance sexual pleasure if someone is disabled
• Ideas for resources and signposting

You will also have opportunity for a question and answer session.

Trainers:

Mel Gadd is manager at Cwmni Addysg Rhyw - Sex Education Company, a RSE social enterprise. She has been a sex educator for 20 years, previously with national sexual health charity FPA, and is author of 'Masturbation, Autism and Learning Disability; A Guide for Parents and Professionals.' Mel delivers RSE from a rights based perspective, believing good RSE is not just about 'stopping the bad stuff'.

Damian Weatherald has been actively working in the adult industry for over 15 years. Starting out in retail and opening his own sex toy stores, he moved on to specialise in accessible products that can enhance the sex lives of disabled people. Damian works alongside the team at then UK-based charity Enhance The UK, whose aim is to break down the taboos and barriers around sex and disability. Being disabled himself means he’s very empathetic to his work and feels he can bring something to the table from a few angles. As a qualified sex educator, he feels that pleasure needs to be discussed in a sex education setting and inclusivity and accessibility are often overlooked.
