Training outline
Through a combination of guidance, group discussion, scenarios, case study, video and best practice review, we will explore the following:
1. Disability and how it relates to business.

• What does the law say?
• The models of disability.
• Why does disability matter to business?
• An introduction to best practice.
2. Disability means business.
Guidance, group discussion, group activity and video on:
• Removing barriers.
• A strategic approach to disability.
• Disability Confident scheme.
3. Disabled people and disabled colleagues.
Guidance, group discussion and case study on:
• Disability related language.
• Disability and identity.
• Working with disabled colleagues.
4. Disability practice across the business.
Guidance, group discussion and reflection on:
• Best practice in recruitment, employment and customer service.
• Best practice in every area of the business.
• Applying learning and best practice in the workplace.
