The pandemic drastically changed how organizations deliver programming. Cultural organizations were challenged to continue offering programs in new digital ways with little to no prior knowledge of how to do so.
There is a misconception that virtual programs are inherently more accessible for disabled people. The thought is that eliminating physical barriers like transportation makes it easier to attend. This is true for many. However, accessibility is more than getting in the door.
In partnership with Vermont Arts Council, Inclusive Arts Vermont presents Digital Access: Key Elements for Inclusion of Disabled People. This program is a series of workshops using IAV’s unique interactive and conversational teaching style. A week after each workshop, IAV will host office hours where participants can ask in-depth questions.
Workshop recordings will be available on VAC’s YouTube channel.
Participation is free to Vermont non-profit arts and culture organizations. This workshop series is supported with funds from the state of Vermont legislature.
ACCESSIBILITY: All workshop disability events sessions will feature auto captioning and live verbal description. For additional accommodation requests, please contact Heidi Swevens: Heidi@inclusiveartsvermont.org, 802-238-5170
