Speakers

Matt O’Neil, DSV Advisory Network Chair

Matt is passionate about his community and raising awareness about Down syndrome. He is very excited to be the Chair of the Down Syndrome Advisory Network Victoria (DSANVic).

Matt says: “Making my own decisions is important for me to control my life. It is about what is important to me and what I want to have in life and what I want to do. Making decisions is putting things into action.”

Keziah Glenane, DSV Advisory Network Member and DSA Employment Ambassador

Kez is passionate about being able to meet up with groups of friends and provide a voice for her community. Kez would like to help people with Down syndrome to get a paid job in the community and live independently.

Kez says: “It’s important to make you own decisions because that is what you do as an adult. You need to make your own decisions to have power for yourself. If you are making decisions then you have to make sure you think about other people’s feelings.”

Zoe Shearer, Health Project Manager at Down Syndrome Victoria.

Zoe has worked delivering project and training in the non-profit sector for the last 16 years. Zoe is passionate about working with people to bring about real change and improving outcomes for people with disability and those that support them.

Zoe thinks making decisions can be a hard skill to learn for everyone, but it is a really important part of living life and an excellent skill to have.
