You’re invited to Coffee with Your GADs, an informal meeting to discuss legislative issues affecting the Chicago real estate market!
This July, the Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Buildings (DOB) is joining us to discuss the heating and air conditioning ordinance, net-zero carbon building initiatives and 10-year smoke detector mandates.
Commissioner Beaudet was appointed by Mayor Lori Lightfoot on July 31st, 2020 and confirmed by City Council on October 7, 2022. The Chicago Department of Buildings (DOB) is a 295-person department with an annual budget of $37 million.
WHAT IS A "GAD"?
Your Chicago Association of REALTORS® Government Affairs Directors (GADs) will provide an overview of our current advocacy initiatives and concerns. This is your opportunity to understand how policy is being crafted and what the GADs are doing at City Hall and the Cook County Building. We discuss it all – the politics, policies, proposed laws and personnel impacting your clients and your business. You can also expect occasional drop-ins from elected officials and policymakers.
