Now, more than ever, it is important to understand how to effectively identify, address, and respond to mental health and substance use concerns, and this course is designed to teach you important skills to do just that!
The first 90 minutes of this course will focus on athlete mental health and athletic trainer well-being. You will learn about variables impacting the mental health of athletes and how you can respond effectively as an athletic trainer.
After a short break, we will then train you in QPR, and successful completion of this course results in you being QPR certified. Just like CPR, QPR is an emergency response to someone in crisis and can save lives. It is the most widely taught gatekeeper training in the world.
Instructor
Your instructor for this course will be Kathryn Lang who is a Certified QPR instructor who has knowledge of working with athletes, the mental health landscape, and the sport environment.
