At the first formal meeting of the Glasgow Voluntary Sector health and Social Care Network, Donald Macaskill, CEO of Scottish Care will talk about social care in Scotland and how we ensure its value and impact is fully recognised.
He'll share thoughts about the importance of social care economically and for society; for people's independence and for human rights. He's discuss the reasons for the implementation gap between well intentioned national policy and legislation and the experience of people who need and use social care and those who work in it.
How do we keep the vision and hope within the Feeley Review alive? Can we move away from social care which is driven by a 'maintenance and crisis' approach to one which values and supports individuals and families to have the quality of life they deserve? Can we develop a clear manifesto for a more 'human' social care system and put the 'social' back into social care?
Come along to this free, online disability event to meet and ask questions of one of the most respected leaders and thinkers in social care and take part in this first meeting of the Voluntary Sector Health and Social Care Network in Glasgow.
