Re: Disabled Parking

A few years ago, some friends from the UK visited and faced significant issues with San Francisco parking enforcement not accepting their placard. They received at least two tickets, and upon calling the number on the tickets, they were informed that the tickets were mistakenly issued and would be resolved. However, to get them dismissed, they had to bring the tickets and their placard to a specific office during business hours. This was quite inconvenient as it was the weekend, and they were leaving Monday morning. They ended up planning to handle it by mail once they returned home.

Getting a temporary permit would be the most secure solution, although it adds an extra step. If you prefer not to do that, printing out any relevant documentation and leaving it on the dashboard alongside your placard might help. Hopefully, the traffic enforcement officers will take the time to read it.
